In June 2008 the FA Football Development Committee and The National Game Board (NGB) agreed the proposal of the piloting of The FA Charter Standard League Programme during the 2008-09 season.
The Timperley and District JFL is the Cheshire County FA official pilot league for this programme and will be working closely with the County FA and The FA to develop the criteria for the programme.
The FA Charter Standard League programme will launched in April 2009 with delivery commencing from September 2009.
The National Game Strategy target is 30% of leagues to achieve The FA Charter Standard League Award by 2012, with The FA Charter Standard League Programme Vision: Offering everybody in grassroots football a high quality, safe, enjoyable experience that is nationally recognised.
