Step into Sport
Sport relies on 1.5 million volunteer officials, coaches, administrators and managers and the Youth Sport Trust plays a major role in supporting their development.
Step into Sport focuses on young people aged 14 to 19, giving them opportunities to become involved in sports leadership and volunteering and encouraging them to continue this into later life.
The programme is funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) as part of the national Physical Education, School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) strategy, which is revitalising PE and school sport across the country.

FA Step into Sport
The FA Step into Sport Programme is an initiative which enables the FA to enthuse, retain and support the development of young people within Football.
The aim of the programme is to encourage the placement of students aged between 14-19 years who have completed the minimum of Level 1 Leadership Award (JSLA/CSLA) and/ or JFO (Junior Football Organisers) or a FA Coaching qualification (Level 1 or Level 2), into local Charter Standard Football Clubs or appropriate agencies and recognise the commitment of the Young Leader.
The programme will play a vital role on developing the volunteer workforce within the game through creating an effective, safe and enjoyable pathway for Young Leaders.
