Safeguarding Children / Welfare Officer Updates

Further to the down-loadable Affiliation Leaflet (right) which explains the requirements for affiliation for the current season 2008/9 we now need to be aware of the requirements for affiliation for season 2009/10.

Affiliation to Cheshire FA will not be possible for Clubs with Youth Teams (under 18) if your Club does not have a Club Welfare Officer who has a current FA CRB certificate, has attended an FA Safeguarding Children Course AND has attended an FA Welfare Officers Workshop.

FA CRB application forms can be obtained from, and verified by, your Youth League Welfare Officer or Andy Ridgway at Cheshire County FA Office.

Safeguarding Children Courses and Welfare Officer Workshops are planned and delivered around the County; dates can be found under the Devlopment section of the website. However, if a League or District wishes to hold their own, this can be done by liaising with the Football Development Office. This is a popular way of delivering the training as it saves on travel, time and expense.

Useful information for all prospective, new and existing Welfare Officers can be found in the Welfare Officers Information Pack (right).
