Clubs To Benefit From Barclays Collaboration

Cheshire FA, working in collaboration with Barclays Bank PLC, is delighted to be able to offer our clubs the opportunity to sign up for a Barclays...

The Community Account by Barclays is specifically designed for non-profit making organisations that will benefit the community, making football clubs the perfect fit to take advantage of the product.

Nearly all monetary transactions in grassroots football can now be made online or by debit card, banking methods that have previously proved difficult for grassroots football clubs to access.

With the Barclays Community Account, it takes just one phone call to request an application pack to start setting an account up.

The benefits of a Community Account to Cheshire clubs include access to a debit card, online and mobile banking, a cheque book, Barclays Pingit and their Mandate Change service.

Any clubs who would like to find out more information or request an application pack need to call 0800 515462 between the hours of 8am-8pm, Monday to Friday or 9am-1pm on Saturdays to speak to the Barclays New Customer Team who are based in Northwich, Cheshire.

Simon Gerrard, Cheshire FA Chief Executive said: "Banking for grassroots football clubs has long been as issue but we are pleased to have forged a relationship with Barclays bank to offer our clubs the chance to open Community Accounts.

"The administration side of football is now almost exclusively online so it is vital that we can recommend to our clubs a secure, robust banking package that means that they will have access to modern banking methods to sit alongside the fantastic customer service which the Barclays Community Account provides."

Ian Barsted, Barclays Cheshire Area Business Manager said: "Barclays are delighted to be working with the Cheshire FA to provide their members with appropriate banking facilities for their needs as grassroots football clubs.

"We have a specialised team dedicated to helping the setup of Community Accounts and we aim to ensure that the process for the volunteer administrators involved in Cheshire football is an efficient and secure one."
