This year 2017-18 - Cheshire FA received its highest respondents for the FA’s Grassroots Survey with 1,332 people completing it.

We would like to thank all that completed the survey as your feedback is critical in guiding our delivery and ensures we continue to raise standards across grassroots football.

In the 2016 Grassroots Survey a number of key points were raised by those that completed the survey.

You Said - Invest in facilities in Cheshire

We Did - Since 2013, £13.25 million has been invested in facilities in Cheshire. This funding has gone into 3G pitches with the likes of Blacon High School, Hartford High School, Moss Farm Leisure Complex, Ellesmere Port and Astley Sports College all getting new 3G Pitches to name a few.

The funding has also gone into improving changing facilities, repairing clubhouses, ground maintenance equipment, fencing and goalposts around Cheshire.

With more facility investment due in 2018!

You Said - Communicate through an E-Newsletter

We Did – An E-Newsletter has now been developed and will launch in 2018.

You Said - The Standard of refereeing needs to improve.

We Did – We have increased the pool of referees by over 100 in this last year. We have trebled the number of female from 21 female referees to 63. We have set up new and improved Referee Courses and developed new Referee Academies to increase the quality of our work. Feedback from clubs has continued to improve in 2017.

You Said - More WGS Support & Training

We Did - WGS Support (online guidance) was created for all clubs & leagues on the Cheshire FA website. Online Player Registration (face to face) training and webinars for all leagues and clubs using the system has also been provided and improved.

You Said - Improvements to Club Affiliation and League Sanctioning

We Did - A new Cheshire FA Club Affiliation package is currently being developed ready for the 2018/19 season.

Leagues were fully supported through the League Sanctioning process for the 2017/18 season with online and face to face training as well as dedicated staff support.

You Said - A desire to play more recreational football

We Did - Cheshire FA’s recreational Elevens league has doubled in size since its launch in 2016, whilst women’s recreational football festivals and sessions have also hit the ground running in 2017 with over 100 women playing and aspirations to develop a recreational women’s league in 2018.

You Said - County League Forums

We Did - The County Leagues currently have a forum in the form of the League Development Day which will take place once again in February 2018. Following a think tank forum with our Charter Standard clubs, we will be improving our communication through social networks to provide concise and relevant updates and a platform to connect clubs across the County

You Said - Coaching courses spread across Cheshire

We Did - We are now using a digital data software package to analyse where there is a need for 3G pitches and courses across Cheshire.

This software highlights the areas across Cheshire in which coaches are lacking qualifications and are due to expire, thus informing us where there is a need to put a course on in the County.

This software also shows us on a map which areas have grass pitches and 3G pitches and where all of our teams play football, thus informing us where there is a need for facility investment in the County.

The results and feedback of the 2017 Grassroots Survey are now being collated and analysed and we will have the results in early 2018.
