AC Hoylake launches its first ever adult team

They have entered a team into the Chester and Wirral Flexi League.

AC Hoylake is known far-and-wide for the great work it does coaching kids' and youth football, and promoting the game for all under-18 age groups - never a club to let the grass grow under its feet, last week saw the launch of its first ever adult team.

AC Hoylake was established in 2001, recognising the need for a local junior football club, to serve the community of Hoylake and West Kirby. Successive junior teams have been introduced every season, but now the keen coaches and parents have the chance to represent the club in the newly launched Chester and Wirral Flexi 11’s League (Woodchurch).

The team will be made up of coaches, parents and close friends of the club.

AC Hoylake's opening fixture was played on Friday (January 12) on the full- sized 3G pitch at Woodchurch Leisure Centre, with subsequent games being played fortnightly. With rolling subs and unlimited squad sizes it makes 11-a-side football accessible to the players who can’t or don’t want to commit to weekend football.

Speaking about the new team, Paul Williams Chairman of AC Hoylake JFC said “We heard the success of the Chester Leagues and the idea of playing on a 3G once every couple of weeks and the flexible part was ideal as not everyone could commit each week. We put it to our parents and coaches and we were inundated with requests to play”

For more information on AC Hoylake’s formation of the adult team you can watch the full interview with Paul Williams here.

We still have 3 places available in the Woodchurch Division so if this is something that may interest your club’s parents, coaches, volunteers and friends please get in touch and we would love to support you in getting a team off the ground.
