Do you want to get involved in the game that helped make players like Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar?
The FA has launched a new Futsal Strategy to make this fast, exciting format of the sport become England’s indoor game of choice for young players and drive participation.
Here in Cheshire we believe in that vision and want to let you know of how you can get involved in your area and what is going on in Futsal in Cheshire.
There are currently four junior Futsal leagues in our county covering four geographical areas. Our aim is to ensure these leagues are safeguarded, insured and governed in a consistent way to provide players with a great experience of the game. These areas are as below –
Tranmere Rovers Futsal Leagues – WIRRAL – Steve Brand email@example.com
South Cheshire Futsal League – CREWE – firstname.lastname@example.org
Wire Futsal League – WARRINGTON (Sanctioned with Liverpool FA but open to Cheshire FA teams) – Karl Burns Karl@wirefutsal.com
Inspire Futsal – TAMESIDE (Sanctioned with Manchester FA but open to Cheshire FA teams) – Russel Fryer email@example.com
We also plan to grow leagues and provision within other areas in the county to provide all young players the opportunity to access this great game. Our target areas are as follows and we have had interest already from local clubs and volunteers to help create these.
Wire Futsal League also plan to run an Adult league from Chester University, Warrington Campus.
If you would be interested in making Futsal happen in your area then please get in touch. We are creating volunteer committee groups to manage the local leagues and we will provide all help and support in getting these off the ground. If you are interested in volunteering on our leagues then you can contact Futsal@CheshireFA.com
Our aim is to then have a Futsal Forum working with all the leagues to share best practice, ideas and provide a consistency across all areas to really grow the game.
CLUBS and TEAMS
We are pleased to launch our new free futsal membership for season 2018/19.
Our membership package is now live and all existing clubs with futsal teams can add their teams to their affiliation so they are eligible to play in the above sanctioned leagues and competitions. Further information on the benefits of the package and how to do this can be found below.
If you are looking to set up your own Futsal Club not built in to a Football Club or Existing Futsal Club please contact Futsal@CheshireFA.com
Once we have details of all our affiliated teams we can then advertise this out to players who enquire about joining teams and understand where we have teams and where there are gaps in provision of futsal to inform future projects and funding.
We are running an FA Futsal Level 1 course on 14th October at Egerton Youth Club and places are still available. For more information and to book on to the course click here. You can contact CoachEducation@CheshireFA.com with any enquiries.
This course will provide you with an understanding of the techniques and skills related to the game of Futsal. By the end of the course you will be able to:
- List the 6 core technical strands of the game
- Identify 6 key area relating to the laws of the game
- Describe the current development pathways and estimated participation rates in England
With the growth of the game, with new teams and leagues, the demand for Futsal referees will increase. If you are an existing FA registered Football Referee you can attend a Futsal Conversion course to hone your skills and learn the laws of the game.
If you would like to get in to Futsal Refereeing and haven’t done an FA Referees Course you can see all our courses here.
You have to have completed the FA Referee Course before attending a Futsal Referee Course.
We currently have no Futsal Referee Courses in Cheshire but will plan to run one once we understand need and demand. There is a course being ran in Manchester FA http://bit.ly/FutsalRef and we encourage any referees interested in refereeing futsal to book on to this as there are limited spaces.
