Cheshire FA Appoints Independent Chair to Knights Grange Steering Group

The steering group will help shape our Vision 2020 project

Cheshire FA are delighted to announce the appointment of Tim Ashcroft as independent chair of the Knights Grange steering group for Vision 20/20, our proposed world class performance centre. In March we announced Winsford as our preferred location for this exciting project and we are pleased that the residents steering group is now taking shape.

Tim has accepted our invitation to chair the new steering group and help us to create a diverse and balanced group of people who can help us to maximise the potential of the site while minimising impact on the local community. Tim is a long-time resident of Knights Grange and brings experience in Economic Development, Regeneration and assessing the impact of sport on the economy. He has also worked nationally facilitating the public and private sector to work together on some major initiatives. Tim is also heavily involved with local charity and music projects.

Stuart Manifould, Project Director for Vision 20/20 said, ‘We are thrilled that Tim has accepted our invitation to join us on this exciting journey! We want this steering group to be independent and to represent the community and the interests of local people. Tim brings with him a wealth of experience as a local resident, but also a successful entrepreneur. I’m confident that the selected members under Tim’s leadership can really help us to ensure this project has the best possible outcomes’.

We received in excess of 70 applications and after an initial assessment we have selected 20 members including a chair and secretary. We would like to thank all local residents for their fantastic response to this process and for their support of our proposals.

On Friday 5th April, all selected members will be notified by email and invited to meet with appropriate representatives with a view to attending the first meeting of the steering group on Tuesday 23rd April.
