Cheshire FA Referee to make Premier League debut

Rob Jones to take charge of Brighton & Hove Albion v Sheffield United this weekend

This Saturday, Cheshire FA’s very own Rob Jones will make his Premier League debut.

He has been selected to take charge of Saturday's 3pm clash between Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United at the AMEX Stadium.

Rob has had a rapid rise through the refereeing pyramid and now regularly takes charge of EFL Championship fixtures as a Select Group 2 Referee.

Rob refereed the 2018 EFL League 1 Play Off Final at Wembley and has recently taken charge of some important Championship fixtures, including the South Wales derby between Swansea and Cardiff.

Cheshire FA Referee Development Officer Ed Duckworth said: "This is a very well deserved appointment for Rob and one which I’m sure he is very proud of.

"Rob is a great role model for referees In Cheshire proving that hard work and dedication can lead to great things."
