This November, Cheshire FA will be supporting Movember and we are encouraging all of our clubs to get involved.

The Movember Foundation is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health, helping to raise awareness of issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

Originating in Australia, the organisation has helped fund more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world in the last 15 years.

By 2030, the Movember Foundation say they will aim to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.

In 2019, participants in more than 20 countries worldwide will grow their facial hair and take part in various activities to raise money for the cause.

We are giving clubs and individuals across Cheshire the opportunity to work alongside one-another to raise awareness of men’s health issues through various fundraising initiatives.

Our Cheshire FA fundraising page will show how much money has been raised in total across the County, and also allows teams to compete against each other to raise as much money as possible!

Steve Stewart, Cheshire FA Chief Executive, said: “We are proud to be supporting Movember, a charity that makes such an impact for so many people across the country.

“There will be young people and adults across Cheshire who are either currently suffering, or have previously suffered with, men’s health issues, so it is our duty to make more people more aware of the great work being done by the Foundation.

“We hope that this will encourage more people to step forward and discuss or increase their awareness of the issues and impact, and we know that our clubs will do their best to raise as much money as possible for such a great cause.”
