Following a meeting of the Cheshire County FA Youth Committee, we are delighted to be able to confirm that from the 2021/22 season we are introducing 3 new County Cup Competitions for Girls in Cheshire. 

Over recent years, the teamwork shown by dedicated volunteers with the support of the County FA Staff has resulted in huge strides forward for the Girls Grassroots game.  We’d like to thank everyone who has enabled the growth of the game.

From the beginning of the 2021/22 season, clubs will be able to enter Girls teams into Cheshire County FA Cup Competitions in the following age groups:

• U13’s
• U14’s
• U15’s
• U16’s
• U18’s

Cheshire County FA CEO Mike Watson, commented: ‘Providing parity of opportunity for girls in Cheshire to participate in our prestigious County Cup Competitions has been a priority of our organisation, and I’m delighted to be able to confirm that we have now made that priority a reality.  The number of girls playing football continues to grow, and that growth means we’re confident of having a viable Cup Competition at all 5 of our junior Girls age groups.  I’d like to wish all of the teams in these competitions the very best of luck.’

Clubs are reminded that entry into these, and all of the Cheshire County FA Cup Competitions in the 2021/22 season, is via the Affiliation process.
