Continued Professional Development

Learning and development is an active, continuous process. It's a journey that never ends. And one that is shaped by experiences and learning opportunities gathered anywhere, anytime.

To support your journey, The FA provides a range of learning opportunities for you to engage with. From events in your region to online resources to in situ mentoring, you can access the development support that will make the biggest impact to you and your role.

Cheshire FA are currently developing a localised coach development offer which will involve the delivery of local events/workshops, targeted support for Female and Black and Asian coaches as well as a variety of other opportunities to support all coaches.

We are in the process of organising our CPD calendar for the year and more events will be shared the website in the coming weeks, with links to secure a spot on these courses.

Female Coaches Development Group

Cheshire FA is excited to confirm details of our next Female Coaches Development Group event, which will focus on practice and competition objectives.

Being a part of the Female Coaches Development Group will also provide you with access to online and in-person workshops moving forward.

Whether you have just started coaching, coaching your child as a volunteer, or coaching regularly, this group is for you and there will be tailored support for your level.

STEPPING OVER THE SIDELINES

Aspiring female coaches across Cheshire are invited to join us for our next Stepping Over the Sidelines event, which supports the first step into coaching.

Taking place at Egerton Football Club on Tuesday 28 May (7pm – 9pm), the FREE workshop, open to all women aged 18+, aims to break down some of the barriers, such as ‘I have no playing or coaching experience’ or ‘I don’t know the rules’.

In addition, the workshop looks at the skills you may already hold, which can be transferred to football coaching. The practical aspect of the workshop is designed to showcase what coaching looks and feels like on the pitch, ensuring that you leave the workshop feeling comfortable and confident to get involved in a session.

You will also be provided with a flavour of what you could explore next, including the free online EE Playmaker by England Football course and more.

FAQs

Absolutely. The FA runs events all over the country and for all levels. To explore events please visit our national CPD events page here.

If you're an FA Level 1 or 2 learner, continuous professional development hours are optional and so there is no longer a requirement for licensing .

If you're a UEFA qualified coach, however, you are required to complete 15 hours of CPD every three years to maintain your licence, which The FA recommends is best achieved by completing 5 hours per season
