Health and Wellbeing
Here to support you
Approximately 1 in 4 people around the world will experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives, according to a report from the World Health Organization (WHO). The FA ‘S Equality, Diversity and Inclusion plan 2018-21 ‘In Pursuit of Progress’ recognises this and highlights it will develop additional mental and emotional well-being support for the game.
At Cheshire FA we are using the power of football to address this issue and support the FA’s plan. We are working with our community trusts and grassroots football clubs to improve the mental health and well-being of the local community by delivering inclusive football sessions across Cheshire.
Sessions have been implemented for people whose health and physical activity levels are affected by a range of conditions such as mental health problems, medical conditions, social isolation, weight loss, homelessness or disability.
