15 players were selected from our FA Tesco Skills Centre at Blacon High School and got to showcase their abilities on the pitch at the Swansway Stadium.

The exhibition was typical of a normal Tesco Skills session and was led by Coaches Rob Oakley and Paul Cleworth and Team Leader James Burton.

The FA Tesco Skills team also gave out 500 free tickets prior to the game to local primary schools, allowing kids from the surrounding areas to come and watch the Young Lions and potential England stars of the future.

FA Tesco Skills Team Leader in Cheshire, James Burton said: “It was fantastic for us to be able to deliver a session on the pitch at Chester for such a high profile game, not only to be able to promote the Skills programme but to be able to give a selected bunch of kids a chance to showcase their skills in front of such a large crowd.

“If was also brilliant to see so many young faces in the crowd for the game who will have hopefully been inspired by seeing the teenage England stars in action and potentially come and join one of our Skills Centres in the future.”

England Under 19s were victorious in the game, finishing with a comfortable 3-0 win over their Turkish counterparts.
