Two of Liverpool Ladies' brightest young talents, Hannah Dale and Ashley Hodson, took time out of their busy pre-season schedules to pass on to some advice and take part in the session with the 45 girls in attendance.

The two FA WSL stars took part in a Question and Answer session with the group, fielding questions on everything from their healthy diets to what it's like to be paid to pay football professionally.

Hannah and Ashley then then took part in a ball mastery session with the older teams before going head-to-head in a small sided game with some of the younger girls from the Lymm Rovers Girls' Academy.

The session was run by Liverpool Football Club Foundation coaches Vicky Jepson and Shannon Howarth, giving all the Lymm Rovers girls a taste of professional, female specific coaching.

Carla Parker, Lymm Rovers Girls Head Coach said: "For our girls to be able to meet and learn from two young professionals who played for local grassroots clubs at the same age as they are now was just fantastic.

"In the space of just an hour, Liverpool Ladies and Cheshire FA have helped to inspire the next generation of female footballers to believe and prove to themselves that they can be the players they dreamed they could be."

The event was organised by the Liverpool FC Foundation, in conjunction with Cheshire FA, as part of their Women and Girls' project to target the drop off of girls leaving football in their mid teens.  The project is supported with key funding from the Premier League for Sport programme, allowing the LFC Foundation to offer support to grassroots clubs in their community.

Vicky Jepson, Women and Girls Project lead at the LFC Foundation said: "I feel very passionate about doing all we can to help boost participation at all ages in the women and girls' game.

"Cheshire FA have worked closely with us on a few projects which has allowed us to help and support any grassroots clubs that need extra attention to either keep the girls inspired in the game or give the females that attend our satellite sessions a comfortable exit route into a local grassroots team. 

"Lymm Rovers Juniors are a well established grassroots club, they regularly come to support Liverpool Ladies FC in the Women's Super League so we're delighted to help and support the good work they're doing." 

Stephanie Knott, Cheshire FA Women and Girls' Development Officer said: "We are delighted to be able to organise these sessions to help our grassroots clubs. 

"We hope this event made all the girls at Lymm Rovers feel inspired and motivated to continue playing football and to see that with hard work and commitment there is a real path for them into the professional game."
