Cheshire FA Appoints New Safeguarding Manager

Earlier this month, Cheshire FA welcomed Nadine Crane as the newly appointed Safeguarding Manager.

The safeguarding and welfare of vulnerable groups within football is our top priority and we are delighted to be the first County FA in the country to have the designated safeguarding officer form part of the senior management team. This is an innovative move that will ensure safeguarding is at the front of mind in all Cheshire FA operations and has enhanced the development of Cheshire FA’s safeguarding team.

Our safeguarding team consists of three Cheshire FA staff and one of our directors. This team will be responsible for ensuring all safeguarding cases are dealt with collaboratively with The FA and key organisations and authorities.  We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for all and that all participants can enjoy our national game without fear of prejudice or abuse of any kind.

Cheshire FA General Manager, Steve Stewart writes, “The FA and Cheshire FA place the highest possible importance on Safeguarding and Child Welfare. That is why our commitment to working with our leagues and clubs has to be of the highest possible quality. Our appointment of Nadine Crane – who brings great experience of working within a County FA – is a reflection of this commitment to excellence”.
