Welfare Officer CPD & Networking Roadshow Success

Cheshire FA welcomes Welfare Officers for development opportunity!

Throughout March, Cheshire FA’s Safeguarding Team, led by Nadine Crane (Safeguarding Manager), headed around the County to deliver CPD and Networking events looking at a wide range of topics, with some special guests joining along the way.

The team visited Tranmere Rovers, Stockport County and Cheshire FA HQ; it was great to see so many faces from across the Welfare Officer network including Club and League officials, bringing with them best practice ideas and excellent suggestions of ways we can work together further. We were also delighted to be joined by special guest, Matt Johnston (Cheshire West & Chester Safeguarding Partnership) at our Cheshire FA HQ event to provide even more insight.

Nadine Crane, Safeguarding Manager, explained: “It is hugely important to provide support for our Welfare Officers, as we know the hugely vital work they do across Clubs and Leagues in Cheshire. Our Welfare Officers have to deal with a variety of concerns, both low-level and serious, so sharing best practice ideas and experiences was hugely insightful both for them and us. We are keen to continue supporting our volunteers moving forward and have further sessions planned for later in the year. Our Welfare Officers can also book 1:1 sessions with me to discuss any concerns or areas they need support.”

Keep an eye out for further events coming soon.
