LGBTQ History Month

Cheshire FA Proud to Celebrate LGBTQ History Month

We reflect on our experiences of February and value of continued education and understanding.

Cheshire FA has been proud to celebrate LGBTQ History Month throughout February, joining many across the UK in doing so.

LGBTQ History Month is hugely important. It provides an opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the contributions and struggles of the LGBTQ community throughout history.

LGBTQ History Month is crucial in raising awareness and understanding of the challenges and discrimination that the LGBTQ community has faced, and continues to face. It also provides a platform for celebrating the achievements and progress that has been made in the fight for equality and acceptance.

By acknowledging and honouring the history of the LGBTQ community we can promote inclusivity, progressive behaviour, respect, and create a more accepting and supportive society. This is particularly important for our role at Cheshire FA, as football leaders and gatekeepers. It is a time to reflect on the progress that has been made, as well as to highlight the work that still needs to be done in order to achieve full equality and acceptance for all.

We encourage you to educate yourself on the experiences and contributions of the LGBTQ community, both in football and wider society. Some useful links are below.

Together, we can continue to support and advocate for equality and diversity in football.
