It's Awards Season!

The FA and Mcdonald's grassroots football awards are here! And so is the 2018 Cheshire FA Awards!

We recognise those individuals and groups who put their heart and soul into the game. Join us in celebrating the great work in grassroots football across Cheshire! 

Cheshire FA 2018 Awards CRITERIA

When completing your nomination, please consider giving evidence of how the individual may have met some of the below points.  

This award is for an individual who across the 2018-19 season actively embodied the Cheshire FA tagline of changing lives through football within grassroots football in the county.

Nomination must be a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 500 words to be considered.

Please bear in mind the below points are not all encompassing, they are meant for guidance:

  • The range and scope of the impact on the lives of others the individual has had or the impact football has had on their life
  • Has the person shown sustained commitment and contribution to a group or individual? 
  • Has the individual acted as an inspirational and influential a role model?
  • How has the person made a difference to the lives of others; are they inspiring new generations to follow and engaging people in football? 
  • Is the individual encouraging and supporting the development of others by creating a supportive and motivational environment?
  • Has the individual met any of Cheshire FA’s character values of teamwork, responsibility, integrity, inspiration and empathy?

This award is for a club, league or individual that has made a strong commitment to promoting and upholding the importance of safeguarding and welfare in grassroots football in the county.

Nomination must be a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 500 words to be considered.

Please bear in mind the below points are all not encompassing, they are meant for guidance:

  • Is the club, league or individual going above and beyond expectations to promote the importance of safeguarding and welfare?
  • What had the club, league or individual put in place as examples of best practice and how have they shown a strong commitment to make positive change when considering safeguarding and welfare in their grassroots football environment?
  • Have they put any innovative or special safeguards in place above and beyond the prerequisites enforced by The FA to ensure welfare is right at the top of their priority list?
  • Have the club, league or individual reached out to their local community or other partners to help engage and enforce the need for safeguarding and welfare?
