Young Volunteers

Volunteering is a great way for young people to gather practical experience whilst also building new networks and relationships within grassroots sport. Within clubs and leagues there are a large amount of opportunities including roles in coaching, marketing and administration where you can learn new skills and gain relevant experience which could kick start your career.

Going Digital - a 21st Century Grassroots

Young people are familiar with technology in their everyday lives. Their knowledge and experience of using digital platforms such as social media, website and film is fantastic and can make a huge difference across leagues and clubs in Cheshire.

Going Digital is a scheme which brings together young people with these skillsets and places them into delivery groups. Using Cheshire FA’s contacts each Going Digital Group secures a partnership with a grassroots clubs or leagues and delivers a digital focused project. Previous work from young people involved in the Going Digital Scheme can be found below

· North West Under 21 Development League

· Cheshire Football League

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic people who have skills in digital media to grow the scheme. To submit your interest please leave your details within our online form found here (Link). Cheshire FA also work with the University of Football Business in Manchester (UCFB) and Chester University to recruit for this scheme.

Young Leaders Academy

The Young Leaders Academy is made up of a team of driven and passionate young people each of who have a connection to grassroots football by playing, volunteering or officiating. The Academy lead on various projects on behalf of Cheshire FA throughout a season including:-

· Representing young people on Cheshire FA Discipline commissions.

· Delivery of bespoke events and projects alongside the Cheshire FA Staff.

· Management of the Football Futures programme.

· Providing views into Cheshire FA’s delivery planning each year

· Feature as part of Cheshire FA’s Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG)

To become a member of the Young Leaders Academy you must be aged between 16 – 24 and be local to Cheshire. There is an application window process which opens during the summer after each football season and will be advertised on this page when it reopens.

To be part of the Going Digital Scheme you can apply online using the link provided within the section above. There is an annual application process to be part of the Young Leaders Academy which opens during the Summer. When this is open it will be shown on this page and within the news stories on our home page.
