We would like to pay tribute to Mick Holgate who has sadly passed away after a battle with cancer.

Mick supported Coach Development in Cheshire during late 1990s working for the Cheshire Football Development Scheme in partnership with Cheshire FA before joining Macclesfield Town as the first team goalkeeper coach.

Mick also played a pivotal role in setting up the Centre of Excellence at Macclesfield Town and it was his enthusiasm for the game which helped so many youngsters gain a solid foundation at the club.

Such was the esteem that Mick was held in, he subsequently moved to Blackburn Rovers as their Goalkeeper Coach before taking up a similar role at Barrow until his retirement last summer.

The thoughts of everyone at Cheshire FA are with Mick's family and friends at this devastating time.
