Sandbach United Win FA Club of the Year!
We are delighted to announce Cheshire's very own Sandbach United has won The FA National Club of the Year Award!
The National Winners for The FA & McDonalds Grassroots Awards have been selected from a record breaking 4,761 nominations!
The clubs award was announced yesterday by The FA, here is their story.
Sandbach United FC are the ultimate extended footballing family. They are a huge and inspirational club.
Providing football for all ages in Sandbach and nearby, they currently boast 48 teams catering for an incredible 700 players. This lifelong football journey begins with their youngest stars at reception age and Year 1, through to adult and veteran teams. Playing, coaching and volunteering opportunities make this an incredible social adventure where the friendships are for life.
Everybody is included.
Their Wildcats Centre is thriving, and the women's team is making huge strides in The Inspire League. Sandbach's disability section grows by the week, and the club has recently begun work with Cerebral Palsy FC, providing them with free use of their facilities. Local schools are invited to join the party too, as the club gives them pitch space to ensure pupils can benefit from physical activity.
It's an incredible list of achievements, and they don't show any sign of slowing down!
Sandbach United enables their young people to shine on and off the pitch.
Their focus is on inclusivity, encouraging them each to stand out and be the best that they can be, not just as successful footballers but as successful people in school, college and work.
Everybody is encouraged.
Volunteer coaches are funded by the club to do their level two badges, ensuring they improve and develop emotionally, physically, mentally and technically to really understand their players. This has a positive effect on everyone around them.
That positive effect is what Sandbach United are all about.
They are a huge club, but on where everybody matters.
