Online Safeguarding Guidance for Communicating with U18's

Engaging with Under 18's online - Extended Safeguarding Guidance

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, The FA have been looking at what is likely to be ongoing ways of working with Under -18s.

As a result they have extended our safeguarding guidance for anyone working in football who engages online with under-18s.

The extended guidance is now contained in new safeguarding guidance notes – one for club coaches and the other for parents/carers.

The coaches guidance outlines best practice on all aspects of communicating online with under-18 players, i.e. the appropriate setting, session content and general behaviour etc and can be found below.

The parents/carers’ guidance focuses more on general tips on children’s online activities now and in the future – as well as expectations they should have of the club to which their child(ren) belong. The link can be found below:

We encourage you to spend a moment reading the guidance, so we can all keep abreast of best-practice when engaging with Children.
