Rakers FC Support Campaign Against Carrying Knives and Dangerous Weapons

Club working with local police to prevent knife crime.

Cheshire FA is proud of the work being carried out by our local club, Rakers FC, who partnered with Merseyside Police recently to host a football tournament promoting an incredibly important message.

Rakers worked with the local police to hold the tournament alongside other partners, which aimed to deter young people from carrying knives and dangerous weapons.

A terrific turnout on the night saw local teenagers compete against different teams, including one comprising of officers from Merseyside Police.

The on-going work is in support of the police’s #BladeFree campaign, which aims to fundamentally deter knife crime through the provision of clubs and activities – such as the one hosted by Rakers FC.

These opportunities give young people the chance to gain skills, experience and friendships, as well as providing education and showing that there’s more to life than being involved in crime.
