Cheshire Schools FA Vacancies - Secretary and Treasurer Wanted

Are you interested in making a difference within schools football?

At the AGM of the Cheshire Schools FA in June 2024, the posts of Hon Secretary and Treasurer will become vacant. The Cheshire Schools FA are therefore looking for volunteers to take on these two important roles.

Cheshire Schools FA is the parent body for schools' football in Cheshire. The association is made up of seven districts: Chester, Ellesmere Port, Halton, Warrington, Macclesfield & District, Vale Royal and South Cheshire. Its two main functions are to organise and run 19 inter-school / inter-association competitions and to run four county teams at U14 & U16 Girls and U16 & U18 Boys.

  • The Hon Secretary is responsible for over-seeing these two main activities eg organising finals and arranging trials and county matches. In addition, there are many administrative duties eg collating entries into cup competitions and dealing with queries from teachers, parents and the general public
  • The Treasurer is responsible for keeping our accounts up-to-date which involves keeping a record of our income and expenditure. The Treasurer needs to present a report and balance sheet at our AGM. Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets would be an advantage.

Both these roles are unpaid. They are open to people from all industries, not just schools. Access to a computer is essential.

Apart from these two positions, Cheshire Schools FA is always looking for volunteers who could help with the running of our association e.g. helping at county matches, trials and cup finals. Any help would be most welcome!

If you are interested in either of these roles, or in becoming a volunteer, please contact the secretary, John Clark, who will explain more about what is involved.
