Cheshire County FA Cups
What a season it has been across our 14 Cheshire County FA Cups. A huge well done to all of our winners, finalists and match officials; every final was a superb showcase of the quality of grassroots football across Cheshire.
Kevin Mighall, Cups Secretary for Cheshire FA, highlighted in his programme notes:
“With a total of 520 teams and over 7500 players taking part in all fourteen competitions, what looked like a mammoth task at the start of the season was made so much easier with the co-operation of all participating clubs, match officials and our colleagues from the Cheshire FA.
"The standard of football from our clubs has grown each year and this season is no exception. From the Senior Cup Competition to the Under 13s, we have witnessed some exceptional football from the Men, Women, Boys and Girls from across Cheshire. This is due to the hard work and dedication from the coaches, club staff and the many volunteers who give their time each week to bring this wonderful game to players of all ages and abilities. A mention also to our Match Officials who add professionalism to our game in ensuring the Laws of the Game are applied and fair play is the order of the day.
"Our thanks go to all of them.”
Cheshire FA CEO, Steve Smithies, added: “Without the incredible dedication of our volunteers across our Clubs and Leagues in Cheshire, coupled with the commitment of our Referees, these competitions would not be the fantastic asset that they are for our County. I would like to extend a personal thanks to our Cups Committee, led by Kevin Mighall and Alf Roberts, for meticulously running our competitions again this season; and to our staff team who supported across the competitions. We are already looking forward to the 23/24 Season as we do it all again.”
