O.C.E.A.N Cheshire to Host Charity Football Day

Supported by Crewe FC, O.C.E.A.N Cheshire is hosting a charity football event on Stephen Lawrence Day.

Everybody is invited to a Charity Football Day being hosted by O.C.E.A.N Cheshire Community Group, which marks Stephen Lawrence Day.

Taking place at Cumberland Sports Ground from 10.30am to 4pm on 14 April 2023, join the group for a day of family fun, with all members of the community welcome. Supported by Crewe Football Club, events include a bouncy castle, music, food vendors and, of course, football.

O.C.E.A.N Cheshire Community Group is a not-for-profit organisation aiming to provide support, guidance, and a social network for Black, Asian and other ethnic communities in Crewe and the Cheshire East area.

Stephen Lawrence Day takes place on 22 April and celebrates the life of Stephen Lawrence, who was tragically killed in a racially motivated attack on 22 April 1993. Campaigns that followed Stephen’s murder and that way that the initial police investigation was handled has led to profound cultural changes in attitudes to racism, the law, and police practice, and has paved the way for greater understanding of discrimination of all forms, and new equalities legislation. It’s a lasting legacy to Stephen’s memory, with Stephen to this day providing a positive role model of a life well lived.

We hope many attend and make the day a huge success.
