Cheshire FA referees at St. George's Park

Cheshire match officials on the international stage

A group of Cheshire FA match officials received prestigious international appointments for England vs Norway fixtures

Last week saw five match officials representing Cheshire FA at St. George’s Park for a series of Under-17 International Friendlies between England and Norway, with the Cheshire group officiating on Wednesday 11 and Friday 13 October at the Staffordshire facility.

On Wednesday 11 October, Josh Howell (4th Official) and Tom Fox (Assistant Referee) oversaw a 3pm kick-off between the two nations, while just two days later on Friday 13 October George Eaton (4th Official), and Ryan Bostock and James Owen (Assistant Referees), officiated the second friendly fixture.

Speaking about the appointments, Cheshire FA Referee Development Officer, Ryan Bostock, said: “It is fantastic for us to have five referees representing Cheshire FA in prestigious fixtures like these. It’s credit to the hard work they each put in week in, week out when refereeing.

“It is also great to showcase to our new upcoming referees in Cheshire that opportunities like these are well within reach should they wish to progress up the refereeing pyramid. Well done to all involved.”

Refereeing with Cheshire FA is a great way to get involved in football if playing isn’t for you, or if you want to stay involved following a career in the game.
