Statement - Cheshire County District FA Girls' Representative Competition

We're asking clubs to express interest in entering teams at Under-17 level.

Cheshire County FA currently hold a District Association Cup Competition at the end of each season for Under-17s representative teams from the seven District Associations affiliated to the County FA.

The competition goes back to the early 1950s and is fiercely challenged for by all the teams who take part.

Players are selected by a District FA coaching team through trials alongside nominations from clubs playing at the U16s and U17s age groups.

Played at the end of each season at Cheshire FA’s 3G pitch facility, fixtures are played on a league and knock out basis over the two weekends resulting in a final tie with the winners receiving a Challenge Cup and medals for both winners and finalists.

Proposals have been submitted to extend the format to include a Girls U17 District FA Competition.

The Cheshire FA Football Development Team and Youth Committee are looking for expressions of interest.

If you think your District would want to join in this new venture and take part in the competition or if you have any thoughts or suggestions, please contact our Women & Girls Pathway lead, Steph Knott, via femalefootball@cheshirefa.com or contact your District Association Secretary.
