Cheshire FA are delighted to announce the appointed of Nigel Freelove as our new Referee Development Officer.
Nigel brings with him a wealth of experience across refereeing in Cheshire, having played a key role in developing referees through his roles as a Referee Tutor, Mentor, Observer and CORE Co-ordinator.
We are looking forward to welcoming Nigel back to the team here at Cheshire FA, having held a role in an assistant capacity previously.
Danielle Shields, Football Development Manager, noted her delight: “We are very excited to be welcoming Nigel to our team here at Cheshire FA in January. He is extremely passionate about not only refereeing, but helping to develop the next generation of referees through his various capacities. We are sure that Nigel will be able to hit the ground running in the new year and he is eager to get started.”
Speaking of his appointment, Nigel explained: “I am delighted to be joining Cheshire FA on a full-time basis as Referee Development Officer. I have seen at close quarters the responsibility and scope of the role. It is now my task to build on both the success of my predecessor and the reputation Cheshire referees have earned at all levels of the game. I am looking forward to the challenge and opportunity.”
Nigel joins us in early January, and we hope you will join us in giving him a warm welcome.
